Correct Way To Handle Sealing Rings After Removal

Concern: Correct way to handle and store removed sealing rings .

Information: Leaking sealing rings that are replaced under warranty during repairs must be removed according to the specific service information guidelines for the various sealing rings used in Porsche vehicles.

NOTE: The sealing lip must not be damaged during removal.

Procedure for returning old sealing rings under warranty:

Only use the original packaging in which the new sealing ring was supplied. To avoid damaging the sealing lip, do not secure the parts tag to the sealing ring using the fastening wire, instead place it with the original packaging or attach it to the outside of the packaging.
