Installing double clutch

Clean sealing face of the clutch cover.
Information
- Replace O-ring and circlip.
Turn plain compression rings -B- on the hub and check smooth operation and axial play.
Information
- Plain compression rings must move freely.

Clean transmission housing close to the PDK transmission and the sealing face.
Information
- Do not allow particles of dirt to get into the transmission.
Centring tool T40199 must be screwed in as shown.

Check plain bearing bushing in the transmission for scoring.

Coat new O-ring -C- and hub -B- with ATF.

- Do not crush new O-ring.

Install double clutch.

7.1. Allow the PDK transmission to engage in the splines of the ATF pump and transmission shaft using short lifting/turning movements.

7.2. PDK transmission is seated correctly if the O-ring on the clutch cover is touching the edge of the transmission housing.

Information

Tighten fastening screws crosswise.

Tighten new fastening screws -1 - 5- . Initial tightening 1 Nm (0.5 ft. lb.) Torque angle +90° Final tightening +10 Nm (+7.5 ft. lb.)
