Removing crankshaft-flywheel sealing ring

To prevent damage to the crankcase -2- when removing the sealing ring, fit drift punch at the position underneath the crankshaft -1- .

Use drift punch, 1-mm tip Nr.167 to tap a small hole at a non-rubberised spot (rectangular window in the ring) on the sealing ring. → Drift punch

Remove sealing ring.

3.1. Screw in extractor tip and use the slide hammer kit Nr.168 to knock out the sealing ring.

3.2. Alternatively, you can screw in a suitable tapping screw and pull out the sealing ring using a pliers.

Clean the crankshaft flange.

4.1. The crankshaft flange must be free of rust and dirt.

4.2. If necessary, clean it with brake cleaner and grind off any rust with a metal-polishing pad (e.g. Never Dull).
