Removing pistons

  1. Remove oil return (oil plate) -1-  under the oil pump.
    1. 1.1. Unscrew screws -2-  and remove oil plate.

  2. Remove piston and connecting rod.
    1. 2.1. Loosen connecting rod bolts -6-  and take off connecting rod caps -5-  .
    2. 2.2. Push piston out of the crankcase using a wooden handle and get another person or use your other hand to take hold of the piston.
    3. 2.3. Fit connecting rod cap hand-tight to the connecting rod again using the old screws and set down after marking according to the relevant cylinder.
    4. 2.4. The combustion chamber recess on the piston is facing the injector.
    5. 2.5. The connecting rods are cracked and the connecting rod code is facing the exhaust side.

  3. Remove the remaining pistons using the same procedure. To do this, turn the crankshaft using a wrench (a/f 27).
