Checking oil for all-wheel final drive (transmission oil)

→ Let the fluid cool down.
→ Wear personal protective gear.
Information
- Secure vehicle to prevent it rolling away.
- To check transmission oil the vehicle must be horizontal.
Information
The transmission/final drive must be stopped for at least 15 minutes to allow for internal oil level adjustment.
- Check oil for all-wheel final drive.
- 1.1. Unscrew inspection plug and filler plug -3- .
- 1.2. Soak up emerging oil with a cloth.
- 1.3. Oil must come up to the lower edge of the inspection and filler bore.
- 1.4. If the oil level is below the inspection and filler bore -3- , fill in oil for all-wheel final drive until it runs out of the inspection and filler bore.
- 1.5. Fill in oil for all-wheel final drive. → 399035 CHECKING AND TOPPING UP OIL FOR ALL-WHEEL FINAL DRIVE
- 1.6. Tighten inspection plug and filler plug -3-
to the specified torque Tightening torque 60 Nm (44 ft. lb.)
