Installing ATF pump

Information 

In the description below, the individual pumps with the part identifier 3856 ATF pump  are differentiated by the terms oil pump  and sucking jet pump  .

1. Wrap adhesive tape around the splines of the outer drive shaft so that the inner sealing face of the sucking jet pump is not damaged during removal and installation.
   1. 1.1. Coat affixed adhesive tape with grease.

2. Install and check O-rings on the sucking jet pump -1-  .
   1. 2.1. Slide new O-ring -2-  onto the seal seating of the sucking jet pump.
   2. 2.2. Check sealing face on the inside of the large opening on the sucking jet pump for damage and replace it if necessary.
   3. 2.3. Check that the small O-ring at the bottom of the sucking jet pump is fitted correctly.

3. Position ATF pump.
   1. 3.1. Slide sucking jet pump -2-  and oil pump -1-  onto the drive shaft separately.
   2. 3.2. Fit sucking jet pump -2-  onto the oil pump -1-  and tighten screws. Tightening torque 4.5 Nm (3.25 ft. lb.)

4. Install ATF pump.
   1. 4.1. Tighten screws to the specified torque. Tightening torque 25 Nm (19 ft. lb.)
