Preliminary work

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2016 Porsche Macan and 2015 Porsche Macan. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Remove the relevant hub cap using puller hook 9229/1 and loosen axle bolt -1- before raising the vehicle. Operate the brake while doing this (2 mechanics required).

Raise the vehicle → 4X00IN LIFTING THE VEHICLE .
Remove wheel → 440519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING WHEEL .
Support wheel bearing housing (in order to avoid damage to the joints on the upper trailing arms).

1. 4.1. Turn the wheel hub in such a way that a bore for a wheel bolt is at the top.
2. 4.2. Support T10149 must be secured to the wheel hub with a wheel bolt
3. 4.3. Support T10149 must now be fitted into the Transmission and Engine Jack WE 1599 .
Remove lower trailing arm → 401719 REMOVING AND INSTALLING LOWER TRAILING ARM .
Loosen holder -1- for brake line, wear indicator and speed sensor on the wheel bearing housing.

Remove front speed sensor → 451155 REPLACING FRONT SPEED SENSOR .
NOTE:
Removing/fitting brake calliper
- Risk of damage to brake hose.
→ Do not leave brake calliper hanging from the brake hose.

→ Do not pull brake hose too tightly.

→ Do not kink, crush or twist the brake hose.

→ Suspend the brake calliper at a suitable position in the wheel housing.
Remove brake calliper and suspend it at a suitable position in the wheel housing (do not open the brake hydraulic system!) → 473919 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT BRAKE CALLIPER .

Remove brake disc → 465019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT BRAKE DISC .
