Installing lower trailing arm

Information
- All screws and threaded joints on the axle must be tightened in vehicle position. Vehicle position means: vehicle standing on its wheels or the wheel suspension is raised with a universal vehicle lift. Dimension -1- , from lower edge of wing to center of axle corresponds to vehicle position. The current height values can be found in

Pay particular attention to the following points!
- Screws and nuts are Geomet-coated and must not be greased .
- Installation is performed in reverse order.
Observe specified tightening torques:
Lower trailing arm to front-axle carrier: Initial tightening 70 Nm (52 ft. lb.) Final tightening +180°
Lower trailing arm to wheel bearing housing: Tightening torque 140 Nm (104 ft. lb.)
Spring strut to lower trailing arm: Initial tightening 90 Nm (67 ft. lb.) Final tightening +90°
Tie-rod ball to wheel bearing housing: Tightening torque 100 Nm (74 ft. lb.)
Level sensor to lower trailing arm: Tightening torque 9 Nm (6.5 ft. lb.)
