Installing front-axle support

Information 

Risk of damage to chassis components 

• If the front-axle carrier, steering gear or front-axle support is not fitted correctly, never lower the vehicle onto its wheels! 
• Supporting the vehicle on the front-axle carrier or on the front-axle support (e.g. using a jack) is not permitted! 
• If the vehicle needs to be moved, the front-axle support must be installed using the old bolts and square nuts and must then be tightened to the specified torque without additional torque angle  .

1. Replace square nuts in the cast recesses.

2. Fit front-axle support.

   1. 2.1. Tighten fastening screws. (Replace fastening screws!)

      Front-axle support to front-axle carrier:

      Step 1 Initial tightening 90 Nm (67 ft. lb.) 

      Step 2 Final tightening +90° 

      Front-axle support to front-axle carrier, middle and rear:

      Step 1 Initial tightening 90 Nm (67 ft. lb.) 

      Step 2 Final tightening +135° 

   2. 2.2. Clip in electric line at the marked positions -1 and 2-  .
