Removing front-axle carrier

Separate threaded joint -1- .
Swivel out control arm and secure on the body (e.g. using welding wire).

Remove strut -2- at the lower lock carrier on both sides.
1. 3.1. Unscrew fastening nut -3- .
2. 3.2. Unscrew fastening screw -1- .
3. 3.3. Remove strut -2- on both sides.

Open locking lug -1- with a screwdriver, open housing cover -2- on the right longitudinal member and remove it.

Disconnect electric lines on the right longitudinal member.
1. 5.1. Unclip headlight vent line -8- at the clip -7- and set it aside.
2. 5.2. Unscrew fastening nut -2- and move ground lines -1 and 6- aside.
3. 5.3. Disconnect electric plug connection -5- and pull it out of the clip.
4. 5.4. Unscrew fastening nut -4- , remove ground line -3- and set it aside.

Press in locking lugs -1- , pull out ground line -2- in -direction of arrow - and set it aside.

Loosen screw-type clamp securing pressure hose to pressure pipe and pull pressure hose off the pressure pipe.

Expose electric wire harness on both sides of the vehicle.
1. 8.1. Disconnect electric plug connection and move it aside.
2. 8.2. Unscrew fastening nut -2- and press electric wiring harness aside.

Expose engine mount.
1. 9.1. Unscrew fastening screws -1- .
2. 9.2. Not for V6 biturbo engines: Unscrew fastening screws -4- .

Only for V6 biturbo engines: Unscrew fastening screws -1, 2 and 3- at the engine mount.

Prepare unit elevating platform Master Gear unit elevating platform WE 1206 with the assembly fixture Assembly Fixture - Macan WE 1612 .
Raise the elevating platform and guide front locating pins -1- into the jacking points provided for this purpose on the body.
Locating pins are only for guiding the assembly fixture and must not be fitted .

Only for V6 biturbo engines: Do not use locating pin at the front left in direction of travel (due to accessibility of jacking point).

Guide rear assembly driver -1- into the jacking points provided for this purpose on the body.

Loosen front-axle carrier.

1. 14.1. Mark installation position of front-axle carrier -a to d- using a felt-tip pen.
2. 14.2. Unscrew fastening screws -1 to 8- on the front-axle carrier.
