Replacing rear silencer

Information
- Before the rear silencer is released, the exhaust system must be supported with a transmission jack or held by another person.
- On the underside of each exhaust pipe, there are three grooves marking the connection points.
- Disconnect exhaust pipe at the connection point marking using chain pipe cutters Nr.166
or ratchet-type pipe cutters Nr.166-1
(or a similar tool).
Only for installing sports exhaust system:
- At the servo motor for exhaust flap control -1-
, release and disconnect electric connector -2-
.
- Unscrew screws -1- on holder -2- for the rear silencer.
- Remove rear silencer by pulling it downwards.
- De-burr cut on inside and outside of the exhaust pipe. If necessary, remove rust from exhaust pipe using suitable polishing agents and manually restore its round shape.
- Convert rear holder for rear silencer.
- 7.1. Fit new support rubbers or holders if necessary.
- Push new clamping sleeve onto the exhaust pipe.
- Lift the rear silencer into installation position with the help of another person or a transmission jack. Tighten two fastening screws on each holder to the specified tightening torque.
- 9.1. Tightening torque for screws securing holder for rear silencer to rear body:
- Position clamping sleeves in the center of the cutting point during installation.
- 3 mm /Clip contour must not be lower than the lower edge of the clamping sleeve.
