Removing ATF pan

WARNING: Working with ATF
  • Possible danger of injury or damage (e.g. swollen hoses, skin irritation, danger of slipping, etc.)

→ Before lines are opened, place a cloth underneath them!

→ Components that come into contact with ATF must be cleaned IMMEDIATELY with water!

→ Take appropriate protective measures (protective clothing, safety goggles, oil binding material)

→ Collect emerging ATF!

WARNING: Danger of objects or loads falling down
  • Risk of squashing or crushing

→ Secure components to prevent them from falling down.

WARNING: Hot fluid
  • Danger of scalding

→ Let the fluid cool down.

→ Wear personal protective gear.

NOTE: Dirt and contamination
  • Risk of damage to units or components

→ Protect components from dirt and contamination.

→ Clean or replace dirty components.

Information 

  1. Remove cross-strut for front-axle carrier.
    1. 1.1. Unscrew fastening screws.
    2. 1.2. When removing the cross-strut, unclip line -1-  .

  2. Place a drip pan underneath.
  3. Unscrew ATF oil drain plug on the ATF oil pan and drain ATF.

  4. Unscrew fastening screws -1... 15-  in diagonally opposite sequence and remove ATF pan.

  5. Remove old seal on the ATF pan.
  6. Place ATF pan on a clean surface.
