Installing ATF pan

→ Protect components from dirt and contamination.

→ Clean or replace dirty components.

Information 

• The engine must not be started if there is no ATF in the transmission.
• Risk of damage to the transmission.

1. Fit a new  seal.
   1. 1.1. Clean sealing face on the ATF pan.
   2. 1.2. Insert nubs of the new  seal -2-  into the ATF pan -1-  .

2. Clean the magnetic strips and check that they are fitted over the entire surface in the ATF pan.

3. Install ATF pan.
   1. 3.1. Position ATF pan.
   2. 3.2. Fit fastening screws -1... 15-  by hand and screw in as far as they will go.
   3. 3.3. Tighten fastening screws. Tightening torque 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.)

4. Fit and tighten ATF drain plug. Tightening torque 45 Nm (33 ft. lb.)

5. Install cross-strut for front-axle carrier.
   1. 5.1. Clip in line -1-  .
   2. 5.2. Fit new  fastening screws -2-  and -3-  and screw in as far as they will go.
   3. 5.3. Tighten new  fastening screws -2-  .

      Step 1 Initial tightening 90 Nm (67 ft. lb.) 

      Step 2 Final tightening +135° 

   4. 5.4. Tighten new  fastening screws -3-  .

      Step 1 Initial tightening 90 Nm (67 ft. lb.) 

      Step 2 Final tightening +90°
