Sealing transmission housing

Information 

Before starting work, make sure to read the following Technical Information: 

→ 373400 Oil leak/leak on PDK transmission (I-no. 250): Observe information on how to proceed (59/16) 

1. Remove transmission housing cover.
   1. 1.1. Unscrew and remove screws -1, 2-  .
   2. 1.2. Pull off transmission housing cover.

2. Check condition of sealing ring on output shaft -1-  and remove sealing ring if necessary.

3. Prepare sealing faces.
   1. 3.1. Clean sealing faces with a cleaning cloth and remove all old residual sealant using cleaning agent (00004321045).
   2. 3.2. Make sure that the sealing faces are free of dust and grease and that no more oil can run over them.
4. Apply sealant (00004330033) -1-  evenly with a thickness of approx. 5 mm.

   Avoid bore with thin wall thickness -2- on both sides  .

5. Position transmission housing cover -3-  .
   1. 5.1. Guide pins, M8 T10273 -1-  must be screwed into the threaded bores shown.
   2. 5.2. Sleeve 9884 -2-  must be fitted over the transmission shaft.
   3. 5.3. Fit transmission housing cover -3-  on straight, making sure not to damage the sealing ring -4-  .
   4. 5.4. Guide pins, M8 T10273 -1-  must now be unscrewed.
   5. 5.5. Sleeve 9884 -2-  must be removed.

6. Secure transmission housing cover.
   1. 6.1. Screw in and tighten screws -1-  . Initial tightening 20 Nm (15 ft. lb.) Final tightening +90° +/-20° 
   2. 6.2. Screw in and tighten screws -2-  . Initial tightening 15 Nm (11 ft. lb.) Final tightening +90° +/-20°
