Replacing PDK transmission control unit
Information
All remote controls (keys) are required for teaching a DME, rear-end electronics (rear BCM), electronic steering lock (ELV) control unit for example, or for teaching remote controls (keys).
Remote controls (keys) that are not taught during this teaching procedure will no longer be recognized by the vehicle.
Information
When the PDK control unit is programmed, the all-wheel drive control unit is also programmed and coded automatically in addition to the DME control unit.
- Risk of irreparable damage to control unit

- Fault entries in the control unit
- Coding in the control unit is aborted
- Malfunctions in control unit, even during programming
→ Prior to disconnecting the control unit, switch off ignition and remove ignition key.
→ Ensure that the power supply is not interrupted during programming.
→ Connect a battery charger with a current rating of at least → Nominal value: 40 A to the vehicle battery.

The PIWIS Tester 3 9900 instructions take precedence since the description may be different with later Tester releases.
The procedure described here has been structured in general terms. Different text or additional information may appear in PIWIS Tester 3 9900 .
- Connect the Tester to the vehicle and start it. Switch on ignition.
- Select the vehicle type if required.
- Select the PDK (Porsche Doppelkupplung) control unit in the overview . Press [F12] to continue. The message "Create Vehicle Analysis Log (VAL)?" appears. Press [F12] to continue.
- Coding/programming must be selected.
- Automatic programming must now be selected. Press [F12] to continue.
- Read and follow the instructions and information on the Tester.
- Perform programming according to menu guidance.
- The Tester displays the message: Programming was completed successfully. Press [F12] to continue.
- Go back to the overview.
- Press [F7] in the overview to select the Additional menu .
- Engine immobilizer start-up must be selected. Press [F12] to continue.
- Enter the PPN user name and password . Press [F12] to continue.
- Read and follow the instructions and information on the Tester. Press [F12] to continue.
- Perform engine immobilizer start-up according to menu guidance.
- The Tester displays the message: Engine immobilizer start-up completed successfully. Press [F12] to continue.
- Read out all fault memories and erase them if necessary.
- Select the PDK (Porsche Doppelkupplung) control unit in the overview.
- Maintenance/repairs must now be selected.
- Calibration
must now be selected. Press [F12] to continue.WARNING: The vehicle can move automatically while you are calibrating the transmission control unit (PDK).
- The raised vehicle can fall from the lifting platform.
- Danger of crushing.
- Risk of damage to or from objects.
→ During calibration, the brake pedal must be blocked using a commercially available brake pedal lock.
→ The parking brake must be engaged.
→ The vehicle must not be raised and must be standing on its wheels.
- Read and follow the instructions and information on the Tester.
- Calibration after replacing mechatronics (hydraulics and control unit) must now be selected. Press [F12] to continue.
- Read and follow the instructions and information on the Tester.
- Perform calibration according to menu guidance.
- Read out the fault memory and erase it if necessary.
- Exit the diagnostic application. Switch off ignition. Disconnect the Tester from the vehicle.
- Lock, open and start the vehicle using all remote controls.
