Adjusting locking cable

Information
No lateral forces must be applied to the pull rod of the selector knob.
- Press holder for switch console -1-
in -direction of arrow-
and remove it.
- Disconnect electric plug connection -2-
and remove insulating mat -1-
.
- Move selector lever to position "P".
Information
- Loosen clamping screw for locking cable by only about 1 turn.
- The clamping screw is only accessible in selector-lever position "P".
- When the clamping screw is loosened, the selector lever must remain in position "P".
- Loosen clamping screw -1-
for locking cable by about 1 turn using socket insert a/f 5 T40031
.
Clamping screw remains in place .
- Unscrew fastening screws -1-
and -3-
, support the transmission using transmission bracket and lower it by about 25 mm.
- Adjust the locking cable -1- .
- Tighten fastening screw -1-
for the locking cable using socket insert a/f 5 T40031
.
- Lift the transmission and fit and tighten fastening screws -1-
and -3-
. Tightening torque 70 Nm (52 ft. lb.)
- Press release -3-
, actuate selector knob -2-
and move selector lever from position "P" to "D" and from position "D" to "M" and back again several times.
- Position insulating mat -1-
and connect electric plug connection -2-
.
- Position holder for switch console -1-
and engage in -direction of arrow-
