Installing selector support

Information 

No lateral forces must be applied to the pull rod of the selector knob.

Information 

After replacing the selector support, calibrate it using PIWIS Tester II 9818  .

1. Install selector support.
   1. 1.1. Guide locking cable -2-  into the selector support -3-  and engage safety clip -1-  .
   2. 1.2. Position selector support -3-  .

2. Position heat shield and fit and tighten fastening nuts -2-  .

3. Lift the transmission and fit and tighten fastening screws -1-  and -3-  . Tightening torque 70 Nm (52 ft. lb.)

4. Secure selector support.
   1. 4.1. Position selector support.
   2. 4.2. Fit fastening nuts -4-  and tighten them. Tightening torque 8 Nm (6 ft. lb.) 

      Information 

      • Loosen clamping screw for locking cable by only about 1 turn.
      • The clamping screw is only accessible in selector-lever position "P".
      • When the clamping screw is loosened, the selector lever must remain in position "P".
   3. 4.3. Tighten clamping screw -1-  for locking cable using socket insert a/f 5 T40031  . Tightening torque 13 Nm (9.5 ft. lb.) 
   4. 4.4. Press release -3-  .
   5. 4.5. Selector knob -2-  in position "N".

5. Connect electric plug connection -2-  and position insulating mat -1-  .

6. Press holder for switch console -1-  in -direction of arrow-  and secure it.
