Installing wire harness for engine

  1. Installation is performed in reverse order to removal.
    1. 1.1. Make sure that the individual sub-parts of the engine wire harness are not twisted or entangled.
    2. 1.2. Check that the wire harness is routed correctly and without tension so that no chafing occurs.
    3. 1.3. Connect all electric plug connections until they engage securely.
    4. 1.4. Lock all electric plug connections by hand using the manual slide lock.
    5. 1.5. Clip in all sections of the engine wire harness securely at the relevant positions.
  2. Tighten fastening screws for the wiring ducts at the left and right on the cylinder head.
  3. Tighten fastening screws for the wiring ducts at the left and right on the valve cover.
  4. Tighten fastening screws for the wiring ducts on the thermostat housing.
  5. Tighten fastening screws for the wiring ducts on the crankcase.
  6. Tighten fastening screw for the vent line on the cylinder head. Tightening torque 12 Nm (9 ft. lb.) 
  7. Tighten fastening screw securing holder to left cylinder head.
  8. Tighten fastening nut used to secure the electric B+ line to the starter. Tightening torque 18 Nm (13 ft. lb.) 
  9. Tighten fastening nut used to secure the electric line for terminal 50 to the starter. Tightening torque 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.) 
  10. Tighten fastening screw securing wiring duct to the timing chain housing cover.
  11. Tighten fastening screws securing coolant line to the timing chain housing cover.
