Removing wire harness for battery wiring

  1. Disconnect positive cable (B+) at the power distributor. → 978919 REMOVING AND INSTALLING POWER DISTRIBUTOR 
  2. Unclip holders -1-  for the positive cable (B+) -2-  in the luggage compartment.

  3. Disconnect positive cables (B+) -1-  at the jump-start point.
    1. 3.1. Remove cover -2-  at the jump-start point.
    2. 3.2. Screw off connection terminal -3-  at the jump-start point.
    3. 3.3. Remove positive cables (B+) at the jump-start point.

    Vehicles with air suspension 

  4. Unclip air lines -1-  close to the compressor -2-  and valve unit -3-  at the left underbody from the holders.

  5. Support the compressor -1-  and valve unit -2-  with connected lines using the transmission jack and lower them by approx. 100 mm. → 431519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING COMPRESSOR FOR LEVELLING SYSTEM

    All vehicles 

  6. Loosen grommet -1-  from the body.
    1. 6.1. Unhook locking mechanisms -2-  for the inner ring.
    2. 6.2. Pull inner ring down out of the guides for the outer ring -3-  .
    3. 6.3. Pull grommet -1-  down out of the body.

  7. Unclip holders -1-  for the positive cable (B+) -2-  at the rear left of the underbody.
  8. Pull positive cable (B+) down out of the luggage compartment.

  9. Unclip holders -1-  for the positive cable (B+) -2-  at the centre left of the underbody.

  10. Disconnect positive cable (B+) -1-  in the front left wheel housing and remove it.
    1. 10.1. Unclip guide -2-  .
    2. 10.2. Unclip holders -3-  for the positive cable (B+).
    3. 10.3. Pull grommet -4-  down out of the body.
