Securing main wire harness in engine compartment at the left

NOTE:
Incorrect handling of main wire harness
- Risk of damage to lines
→ The main wire harness contains all airbag lines, antenna lines and optical waveguides.
→ The main wire harness must not be separated and is always replaced as a complete wire harness when carrying out extensive repairs.
→ If individual lines are damaged, shut off these lines and install new lines. Lay the new lines along the main wire harness and secure them to the main wire harness.

Always comply with the regulations for handling ESD-sensitive components!
- Always wear approved work clothes and shoes when carrying out assembly work .
- Do not remove new parts from ESD (electrostatic discharge) protective packaging until shortly before installation .
- Do not touch electric pins and plug contacts .
- The main wire harness is secured in reverse order to the steps required for loosening it.
- 1.1. Make sure that the individual sub-parts of the wire harness in the engine compartment at the left are not twisted or entangled.
- 1.2. Check that the wire harness is routed correctly and without tension so that no chafing occurs.
- 1.3. Clip all electric lines for the main wire harness in the engine compartment at the left in securely at the designated positions.
- 1.4. Connect all electric plug connections until they engage securely.
- 1.5. Lock all electric plug connections by hand using the manual slide lock.
- Tighten fastening nuts securing ground lines to the body. Tightening torque 9 Nm (6.5 ft. lb.)
