Removing wire harness for dashboard

→ The wire harness contains all airbag lines, antenna lines and optical waveguides.

→ The wire harness must not be separated and is always replaced as a complete wire harness when carrying out extensive repairs.

→ If individual lines are damaged, shut off these lines and install new lines. Route the new lines along the wire harness and secure them to the wire harness.

→ Observe the requirements for working with and installing optical waveguides.

1. Loosen and expose wire harness in the lower right footwell.
2. Release electric plug connections -a-  and disconnect them -A-  .

3. Unclip section of line at the dashboard bracket at the left and guide it out.

4. Release electric plug connection for temperature sensor at the air vent -a-  and disconnect it -A-  .

5. Loosen section of line on top centre dashboard bracket and centre console and guide it out.

6. Release electric plug connection in the left footwell -a-  and disconnect it -A-  .

7. Bend carpet in left footwell aside and disconnect and remove ground lines -1, 2-  from the body.

8. Disconnect battery line -1-  .
   1. 8.1. Disconnect battery line in the engine compartment and guide it out.
   2. 8.2. Unclip battery line on the dashboard bracket -2-  .
   3. 8.3. Pull battery line in through the seal on the bulkhead.

9. Unclip section of line -1-  on dashboard bracket at the right and on passenger's airbag holder and expose it.

10. Unclip section of line at the right A-pillar -2-  and roof console -1-  .
