Removing rear apron

Information 

• The number of fastening screws, fixing clips, plug connections, holders and trim panels can vary depending on equipment  .
• The illustrations for removing and installing the drive mechanism are shown only on one equipment variant and may differ from the actual equipment variant  .
• Some steps must be carried out automatically  .
• Some of the repair illustrations show only one side of the vehicle  .

1. Unscrew fastening screws -1-  for the rear panel -3-  on the underbody.

2. Open rear lid.
3. Unscrew fastening screws -2-  and remove guide pins for rear lid.
4. Unclip and remove trim panels -1-  on the reversing lights.
5. Unscrew fastening screws on the rear retaining strip -3-  .

6. Remove side trim panel at the right -1-  in the luggage compartment.
7. Open fixing clip -2-  .
8. Release and disconnect electric plug connections -3-  .

9. Unscrew fastening screws -1-  on the rear wheel housing liners.
10. Unscrew fastening screws on the retaining strip -2-  .

11. Remove rear apron by pulling it to the rear.
    1. 11.1. Remove rear apron to the rear until the wire harness is accessible.
    2. 11.2. Remove seal for wire harness at the body, guide wire harness out completely through the bore and remove rear apron.
