Reworking front seat frame

- Remove driver seat, see → WM 720119 Removing and installing front seat .
Information
Before disconnecting the electric plug connections, the seat height must be adjusted to an upper position.
- Remove front seat trim panel, see → REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT SEAT TRIM PANEL - "REMOVING ".
- Replace articulated lever and fastening screws (-items 2; 3 and 4-
) at the front of the seat:
- 3.1. Only loosen fastening screws at the top and bottom of the articulated lever.
- 3.2. Unscrew and remove fastening screws alternately one at a time/uniformly.
- 3.3. Replace the removed articulated lever with the relevant identical (→ different articulated lever on left/right) new articulated lever .
- 3.4. Fit new fastening screw at the top and screw in slightly.
- 3.5. Fit new fastening screw at the bottom and screw in slightly.
- 3.6. Tighten upper fastening screw (-item 2-
) on the articulated lever. → Tightening torque: 20 Nm (15 ft lb.)+/-2 Nm (+/-1.5 ft lb.)
- 3.7. Secure lower fastening screw on the articulated lever with a nut (-items 3 and 4- ). → Tightening torque: 23 Nm (17 ft lb.)+/-2 Nm (+/-1.5 ft lb.)
- Install front seat trim panel, see → WM 721619 Removing and installing trim panel for seat .
- Install driver seat, see → WM 720119 Removing and installing front seat .
- Repeat Steps 1 to 5 on the passenger seat.
