Repairing electric plug connection

NOTE:
Risk of damage to connector contacts or locking lugs
- Corrosion on connector contacts
- Contact problems
→ Only use the recommended press-out tool
- Release secondary lock on electric plug connection using the specified press-out tool.
- Release primary lock on electric plug connection using the specified press-out tool.
- Cut off faulty line -1-
using stripping pliers VAS 1978/3 -2-
.
- Cut repair line with crimped-on contacts on both sides to the required length.
- Insert contact on the repair line into the connector housing until the contact engages securely.
- Guide a suitable line seal -2-
onto the repair line -1-
if necessary.
- 6.1. The wide end of the line seal is guided on first.
- 6.2. The diameter of the line seal must be smaller than the diameter of the line to ensure that the line seal fits securely.
- 6.3. A suitable tool can be used as an aid for guiding on the line seal.
- 6.4. Guide the line seal on as far as required until the line seal is fitted fully and securely in the sealing chamber.
- Strip the repair line -1-
and the line that was cut using stripping pliers VAS 1978/3 -2-
.
- Insert stripped part of the repair line -1-
and stripped part of the line to be repaired -3-
into a suitable crimp connector -2-
.
- Crimp on both repair lines using crimping pliers VAS 1978/1-1
.
- 9.1. Fit crimping pliers insert -1- according to the color marking -3- on the crimp connector -2- into the crimping pliers VAS 1978/1-1 .
- 9.2. Crimp on the crimp connector -2- using crimping pliers VAS 1978/1-1 .
- Seal shrink-fit hose on the crimp connection -1- using hot-air blower VAS 1978/14A -2- .
