Removing dashboard moulding on driver's side at the left

Information

The number of fastening screws, fixing clips, plug connections, holders and trim panels can vary depending on equipment .
The illustrations for removing and installing the drive mechanism are shown only on one equipment variant and may differ from the actual equipment variant .
Some steps must be carried out automatically .
Some of the repair illustrations show only one side of the vehicle .

Cover steering-column switch and steering wheel with a protective mat.
Open closing flap on the air vent using adjusting wheel -1- .
Move vane tab -2- to centre position.

Guide puller hook in the upper area -1- into the air vent and make sure that the hook -2- engages securely in the housing -3- . Suitable tool: Hook 3438 .
Pull on the puller hook until the air vent with moulding disengages from the dashboard.
Guide puller hook in the upper area -4- into the air vent and make sure that the hook -5- engages securely in the housing -3- .
Pull on the puller hook until the air vent with moulding disengages from the dashboard.

Pull air vent with moulding -1- out of the dashboard. On vehicles with illuminated air vents, disconnect electric plug connection -2- .

Unscrew fastening screws -1- on the moulding and disconnect moulding from the air vent.
