Assembling rear lid

Information 

• The number of fastening screws, fixing clips, plug connections, holders and trim panels can vary depending on equipment  .
• The illustrations for removing and installing the drive mechanism are shown only on one equipment variant and may differ from the actual equipment variant  .
• Some steps must be carried out automatically  .
• Some of the repair illustrations show only one side of the vehicle  .

1. Fit blind rivet nuts into the bodyshell on the new lid and rivet using hand riveting tool for set of riveting nuts Nr.123  .
   1. 1.1. Position and fit the guide wedge.
2. Position bracket for rear spoiler -1-  and rivet to the lid using blind rivets, starting from the centre outwards -2-  . Hand riveting tool Nr.124-1 Pos.1

3. Position and secure adjusting element.
4. Installation is performed in reverse order to removal.
5. Tighten fastening screw on holder for gas-filled shock absorber to Tightening torque 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)  until secure.
6. Tighten fastening screw on tailgate hinge to Tightening torque 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)  until secure.
7. Tighten fastening screw on adjusting element to Tightening torque 8 Nm (6 ftlb.)  until secure.
8. Tighten fastening screw on guide wedge to Tightening torque 6 Nm (4.5 ftlb.)  until secure.
