Removing filler flap: Notes

Information 

The filler flap (module) will be damaged during removal and must be replaced during installation.

1. Open the filler flap.
2. Remove filler flap.

   1. 2.1. Insert a screwdriver into the cut-out -arrow A-  and disengage the catch -2-  .
   2. 2.2. Detach filler flap -1-  by pulling it -arrow B-  out of the catch.
3. Open the fuel tank cap -arrow A-  , unclip the retaining strap -1-  and pull it off -arrow B-  .

4. Open luggage compartment trim at the right.
5. Unhook emergency release button -1-  .

6. Guide out operating cable.

7. Unscrew fastening screw -1-  for filler flap actuator.

8. Use a screwdriver to puncture all depressions and release the catches -arrow-  .

9. Use special tool hook 3370  to pull out the filler flap housing -arrow A-  .

10. Release electric plug connection and disconnect connector.
11. Guide new filler flap housing -arrow-  into the opening in the body.

12. Guide emergency release cable in through the bodyshell.
13. Connect electric plug connection.
14. Guide emergency release cable through the bodyshell and engage it at the release button.
15. Align the filler flap housing so that the rubber lip goes all around the outside of the filler flap housing -arrow-  .

16. Press the filler flap housing against the body until the locking lugs engage securely.
17. Slide on the tank cap -arrow-  so that the retaining lugs -1-  lock into the holders and engage with an audible click in the catch -2-  .

18. Clip in retaining strap -1-  (-arrow A-  ).

19. Screw in fuel tank cap -arrow B-  .
