Removing B-Pillar Reinforcement

Installation position of B-pillar reinforcement 

Straightening set Body alignment system package WE 1121 Measuring and alignment system, professional WE 1398 

  1. A window will be cut into the outer B-pillar/roof pillar in the upper B-pillar area.

    Information:  Only make cuts in the top plate. Make sure not to damage the plate underneath when doing this.

    Information 

    Mark cuts X, Y and Z  in accordance with the new part. Make sure to leave an overlap of approx. 3 cm with respect to the body.

    1. 1.1. Mark and make cuts.

      Distance: 80 mm 

      Distance: 110 mm 

      Distance: 90 mm 

    2. 1.2. Drill out spotwelds using spotweld drill

      Removing upper B-pillar section 

  2. Make a rough cut -arrows-  through the B-pillar reinforcement and inner B-pillar.
    1. 2.1. Drill out spotwelds using spotweld drill 
    2. 2.2. Remove remaining pieces of B-pillar reinforcement.

  3. Drill out spotwelds using spotweld drill 
    1. 3.1. Remove remaining pieces -1-  of inner B-pillar.
