Preparing A-Pillar For Installation

Fit in A-pillar.

1.1. Cut A-pillar at the transitions to the body leaving an overlap of 30 mm.
1.2. Fit in A-pillar again.

1.3. Make cuts through the A-pillar and body in the overlap areas.

Preparing A-pillar

Information: Shorten the wing attachment strip to prevent an overlap in the welded area on the A-pillar.

Cut back the wing rail -1- . Dimension x: 90 mm

Prepare connection areas for bonding and welding.

Preparing A-pillar

Orange	Resistance spot-welding
Green	Resistance spot-welding + bonding
Blue	Bonding
Red	Plug-welding/apply a full weld using inert gas without bonding

Prepare wing rail.

4.1. Drill holes for plug-welding in the marked areas on the rail using a drill bit with a diameter of Diameter: 8.0 mm.
