Preparing Rear Side Member (Section) For Installation

Fit in rear side member.
1. 1.1. Cut rear side member at the transitions to the body leaving an overlap of 30 mm.

Preparing rear side member (section)
Fit in rear side member again.
1. 2.1. Make cuts through the rear side member (section) and rear side member in the overlap areas.
Prepare connection areas for bonding and welding.

Resistance spot-weld the closing element.

Installing closing element

Red	Plug-welding/apply a full weld using inert gas without bonding
Green	Resistance spot-welding
Yellow	Bonding + resistance spot-welding
