Removing Longitudinal Member For Wheel Housing Upper Section

Installation position of longitudinal member for wheel housing upper section

Remove wing bracket.
Information: Drill out the connection point on one side only. Do not damage the plate underneath.
1. 1.1. Drill out spotwelds -A- using spotweld drill .
2. 1.2. Grind down welded seams -arrows- .

Removing wing bracket
Remove reinforcements.
Information: Drill out the connection point on one side only. Do not damage the plate underneath.
1. 2.1. Drill out spotwelds using spotweld drill .
2. 2.2. Make rough cuts -1- along the A-pillar -arrows- .
  Information
  
  Only make cuts in the top plate. Make sure not to damage the plate underneath when doing this.
3. 2.3. Mark and make cut -2- . → Distance: 80 mm
4. 2.4. Grind down welded seam -A- .

Removing reinforcements
Heat bonding areas.

Remove remaining piece of upper reinforcement -1-.
1. 4.1. Drill out spotwelds using spotweld drill .

Removing remaining piece
Remove longitudinal member for wheel housing.
1. 5.1. Drill out spotwelds using spotweld drill .
2. 5.2. Grind down welded seams -arrows- .
3. 5.3. Grind down spotwelds -A- from the inside.
