Installing Longitudinal Member For Wheel Housing

Information: 

• Before final assembly, make sure you fully understand all the work steps involved and carry out a trial assembly without applying adhesive  .
• The bonding process can only be carried out reliably when a smooth and swift sequence of operations is guaranteed  .
• Do not begin bonding work until all materials and tools necessary for later repair work are available  .

1. Install longitudinal member for wheel housing and check that it fits perfectly. Check gap dimensions. Refer to Refer to WM 6X00IN GAP DIMENSIONS .
   1. 1.1. Apply adhesive to the marked areas. Refer to WM 5X00IN WORKING WITH BODY STRUCTURAL ADHESIVE 000.043.206.30 , WM 5X00IN WORKING WITH BODY STRUCTURAL ADHESIVE PAH.071.781.00 .Application depth: 3.0 mm  .

   Preparing connection areas of the body 

   Orange	Resistance spot-welding
   Green	Resistance spot-welding + bonding
   Red	Plug-welding/apply a full weld using inert gas without bonding

2. Resistance spot-weld the longitudinal member for the wheel housing.
   1. 2.1. Apply a full weld to the area -arrows-  using inert gas.

3. Install reinforcements.
   1. 3.1. Apply adhesive to the marked areas.

4. Resistance spot-weld the reinforcement.
   1. 4.1. Apply a full weld to the area -A & B-  using inert gas.
   2. 4.2. Spot-weld area -C-  using inert gas.

5. Install wing bracket.
   1. 5.1. Resistance spot-weld the wing bracket in area -A-  .
   2. 5.2. Apply a full weld to areas -arrows-  using inert gas.
