Removing The Generator

  1. Remove heat shield -2-  .

    Unscrew screws -1-  and remove heat protection panel -2-  .

  2. Loosen generator and remove support -4-  .

    Unclip coolant hose front mounting -1-  .

    Unscrew screw on coolant pipe holder -2-  .

    Unscrew screws -3-  and guide out support -4-  .

    Unscrew screw -5-  .

  3. Loosen cable guide -2-  and expose cable.

    Unscrew screw

    Loosen cable mountings -3-  and expose cable.

    Release and unplug electric plug connection -4-  .

  4. Loosen the generator.

    Unscrew cap nut -1-  and remove positive cable -2-  .

    Unscrew screw -3-  and remove ground cable -4-  .

    Unscrew screws -5-  , remove generator -6-  and pull it forward.

  5. Disconnect coolant lines.

    Have a suitable container ready to catch emerging coolant.

    Unscrew screws -1-  and disconnect coolant lines -2-  .

    Replace O-rings.

  6. Lift the generator up and remove it from the vehicle.

    Protect the radiator and cylinder head from damage by covering them with a suitable cover.
