Installing Strut (A-Strut)

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2016 Porsche Panamera, 2015 Porsche Panamera, 2014 Porsche Panamera, 2013 Porsche Panamera, and 2012 Porsche Panamera.   1. Fit strut (A-strut).
    1. 1.1. Get another mechanic to help you guide the strut sideways under the brake fluid reservoir and over the center plenum panel wall into installation position. The screw positions must be aligned. Place strut on the studs under the windscreen. → Fitting strut

    2. 1.2. Fit two large cable plugs on the strut. To do this, press the two plugs sideways into the strut.
    3. 1.3. Press engine wire harness in under the strut. → Wiring harness for strut

    4. 1.4. Fitting fastening screws and nuts on the strut (A-strut) -1 and 2-

    5. 1.5. Fit fastening screws and nuts connecting the strut (A-strut) -1-  to the plenum panel.

    6. 1.6. Fit lines (vacuum, tank ventilation, fuel) -4 and 5-  and plastic clip. Fit (clip in) the plastic clip on the strut.

  2. Fit center plenum panel wall at the top.
    1. 2.1. Guide the center plenum panel wall at the top in sideways under the wiring harness and pull the vacuum line through the bore in the grommet. Fit grommet. → Guiding vacuum line through the plenum panel wall

    2. 2.2. Align the center plenum panel wall at the top and move it into installation position. Fit the fastening screws. → Centre plenum panel at the top

  3. Attach vacuum line -3-  to the vacuum pump.

  4. Fit engine wire harness with rubber sleeve (seal) into the plenum panel wall.
  5. Fit heater and coolant hoses -2-  on both sides of the center plenum panel wall at the top.

    1. 5.1. The locking clip on the couplings -1-  must lock with an audible click at the correct position. Remove hose clamps.

  6. Engage relay box -1-  in the strut.

  7. Fit left plenum panel wall.
    1. 7.1. Move plenum panel wall into installation position.
    2. 7.2. Fit fastening screws on the left plenum panel wall. → Mounting for left plenum panel wall at the side

    3. 7.3. Secure engine wire harness -3-  at the plenum panel wall.
    4. 7.4. Connect cable plugs -1 and 2-  for both sensors. Carefully plug the cable plug on the spring strut -1-  straight in (risk of breakage).

  8. Fit right plenum panel wall.
    1. 8.1. Move plenum panel wall into installation position.
    2. 8.2. Connect cable plugs for both sensors -1 and 2-  . Carefully plug the cable plug -1-  on the spring strut straight in (risk of breakage).

    3. 8.3. Route and secure engine wire harness on the plenum panel wall. -3- 
    4. 8.4. Fit fastening screws on the right plenum panel wall. → Mounting for right-hand side plenum panel wall

  9. Fit side foam pads to the wing on both sides. → Two foam pads at the sides
