Removing Rear Final Drive

  1. Together with rear-differential lock: Remove strut at axle housing.

  2. Remove heat shield -1-  at final drive.

  3. Remove servo motor wiring harness for rear-differential lock with supports -arrows-  from transmission.

  4. Together with air suspension: Detach air compressor and hang it to one side. → REMOVING COMPRESSOR FOR LEVELLING SYSTEM
  5. Place transmission jack under rear final drive and secure with retaining strap.
  6. Unscrew and remove fastening screws -arrows-  for the rear final drive at the left and right.

  7. Unscrew and remove fastening screws -arrows-  for rear final drive at the center.

  8. Remove rear final drive by tilting it backwards.
