Removing Brake Shoes

Brake shoes
Adjustment device
Compression springs
Tension springs

Loosen adjustment device -2- with a screwdriver. → Adjustment device

WARNING:
Preloaded or pressurized components
- Risk of injury (e.g. crushing or bruising) when removing and installing springs.
→ Do not reach into the danger area.

→ Relieve the tension on components before starting work.

→ Secure components to prevent them from loosening suddenly.

→ Wear protective gloves and goggles.

→ Be very careful when working on the brake system.
Remove compression springs -3- . → Compression springs

Disengage both tension springs -4- . → Tension springs

Remove brake shoes using adjustment device -1 and 2- .
Secure actuator for parking brake with a tie-wrap -arrow- .
