Removing front wheel bearing housing

  1. Unscrew fastening screws -arrows-  and remove brake cover plate -1-  .

  2. Press lower control arm off the wheel bearing housing.

    Pressing off lower control arm 

    1. 2.1. Screw off nut on joint pin for the control arm until it is flush with the thread of the joint pin (counter while loosening the nut).
    2. 2.2. Press off joint pin on the control arm using a ball-joint extractor press-out tool T40010  .
    3. 2.3. Screw off nut on joint pin for the axle joint.
      NOTE:

      The slots in the wheel bearing housing must not be widened using a chisel or similar tool!

  3. Unscrew fastening screw on the top of the wheel bearing housing -1-  and pull both trailing arms -2-  up and out.

    Mounting for trailing arm 

    NOTE:

    Drive shafts must not be left hanging from the joint stop! Hold the drive shaft or tie it up if necessary.

  4. Pull wheel bearing housing out of the drive shaft toothing and remove wheel bearing housing.
