Installing Coil Spring

The following must be observed:
- Always replace coil springs in pairs.
- Only coil springs and mounts (supports) with the appropriate color coding should be installed together (depending on tolerance class of spring). Note spare parts catalogue.
Information
The steel springs are inserted together with the mounts (supports) on the lower trailing arm in accordance with their coding (precise installation position).
The bottom of the spring must be facing the outside of the vehicle and the top of the spring must be facing the inside of the vehicle.
- Carefully insert coil spring into the mounts in the correct position using spring compressor 9823 .
- Release the spring compressor 9823 a little to ensure that the spring is seated securely in the mounts.
- Spring compressor 9823 must then be carefully removed.
