Removing Wheel Hub
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2016 Porsche Panamera, 2015 Porsche Panamera, 2014 Porsche Panamera, 2013 Porsche Panamera, and 2012 Porsche Panamera. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Make sure that all accessories (e.g. wheel speed sensor, cable holder) have been removed from the wheel bearing housing.
- Insert wheel bearing housing -1- with the wheel hub -2- facing downwards into the hydraulic press. Make sure that the wheel bearing housing is flat against the brake shoe sealing surfaces and the wheel hub can extend downwards freely -arrow- .
- Fit pressure piece VW 454 -2- on the wheel hub. Screw large ram -1- into the workshop press (see TOOLS AND MATERIALS , Tool overview: wheel bearing, item 10).
- Hold the wheel hub from below (second worker required!). Slowly guide out the large press ram -1-
and fit it on pressure piece VW 454 -2-
. Carefully press out the wheel hub -3-

Removing wheel bearing
- Remove mounting plate for the wheel bearing housing by loosening the four fastening screws.
- Place pipe T10205/5 -2- under the workshop press and fit wheel bearing housing on top. Fit large ram of the workshop press -1- on the wheel bearing.
- Centre large ram -1-
of the workshop press on the wheel bearing -2-
. Carefully press out the wheel bearing.
Removing ball-joint bearing
- Position wheel bearing housing on pressure plate 402 → Pressing out ball-joint bearing, bearing bore not covered
in such a way that the cut-out -arrows-
does not cover the bore for the ball-joint bearing. Get another person to hold the wheel bearing housing.

Screw small ram into workshop press (see TOOLS AND MATERIALS , Tool overview: wheel bearing, item 1). Carefully press out ball-joint bearing -2- (make sure that bearing does not fall out!) -arrow- .
Removing wheel bearing inner race
- Separating device no. 111 -2- must be positioned under the wheel bearing inner race -1- and tightened evenly using an open-ended wrench -4- . Take care not to damage the wheel hub -3- .
- Screw large ram into workshop press (see TOOLS AND MATERIALS , Tool overview: wheel bearing, item 10). Place separating device no. 111 → Pressing off wheel bearing inner race with wheel hub under the workshop press. Make sure that the separating device no. 111 is flat. Hold the wheel hub from below (second worker required!).
- Using pressure piece VW 454 -arrow- , carefully press the wheel hub through the wheel bearing inner race -1- .
