Preliminary work

  1. Remove the relevant hub cap using puller hook 9229/1  and loosen axle bolt -1-  before raising the vehicle. Operate the brake while doing this (2 mechanics required).

  2. Raise the vehicle → 4X00IN LIFTING THE VEHICLE .
  3. Remove wheel → 440519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING WHEEL .
  4. Disconnect all threaded connections on the wheel bearing housing as described in → 425219 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR WHEEL BEARING HOUSING .

    Only loosen nut -3-  on the threaded joint from the lower trailing arm to the wheel bearing housing, do not unscrew fully.
