Working With Body Structural Foam: Processing

Always observe the relevant work safety regulations when working with body structural foam.

Information 

The work area must be dry and free of grease, oil and dust.

Remove loose parts.

Do not wet the area beforehand.

Observe temperature limits: 

• Cartridge and ambient temperature: -40 - 90 °C 
• Optimal temperature: 20 - 30 °C 

Information 

The volume of the structural foam will expand by approx. 0 - 30 % in cavities. When filling large cavities, the chemical reaction can cause strong heat generation.

Remove fresh foam residue immediately with a cloth soaked in acetone. Hardened foam residue can only be removed mechanically afterwards.

• Application from the cartridge: 
• 1. Remove safety pin from the stopper.
• 2. Screw off the top cap.
• 3. Remove the stopper.
• 4. Screw the mixing nozzle provided together with the previously removed cap onto the cartridge.
• 5. Insert the cartridge into the applicator gun.

  Information 

  • To ensure that the substance is completely mixed, apply a bead of structural foam measuring approx. 30 mm in length to a piece of cardboard before use. 
  • Use structural foam within the processing time. 
  • Do not apply pressure on foam-filled parts until hardening is complete. 
  • If the entire contents of the cartridge is not used, remove the mixing nozzle, clean the material outlet opening thoroughly and screw the stopper and cap back on. The remaining material can be used again at a later time using a new mixing nozzle. 
• 6. Apply structural foam.
