Replacing Threaded Bolts
Information
- Defective or broken threaded bolts can be replaced with repair bolts.
The following bolts are available:
- Threaded bolt, M6: → BOLT N.105.954.01
- Grip defective threaded bolts on the complete vehicle (e.g. bolts with damaged threads) using a pliers and screw them out.
Grind down during body repairs if necessary.
- Remove dirt from the sealing surface area of the repair bolt.
- Drill a hole.
- 3.1. Drill a hole in the center of the broken bolt -1- (-arrow- ). → Diameter: 4.0 mm
- 3.2. Drill out the hole.
For M6 threaded bolts → Diameter: 9.0 mm
- Prime rivet area.
- Prepare threaded bolt for installation.
- 5.1. On the back of the bolt -1- , apply sealing compound → SEALING MATERIAL 000.043.204.38 as a continuous bead of sealant -2- .
- Rivet in threaded bolt.
- 6.1. Insert threaded bolt into the bore.
- 6.2. Rivet in threaded bolt using the riveting tool pop rivet nut pliers WE 1476.
- Remove any sealing compound that has oozed out.
