2-Component SIP

Information 

Use the primer within 8 hours. Apply a thin, even coat to the bonded flanges and remove excess primer. Protect surfaces you have already primed from dirt and soiling. Otherwise, the bonded joint may be defective.

Information 

  1. Prepare bonded flanges for bonding. (See WORKING WITH ADHESIVES )
  2. Open bottle for component A.

  3. Fill bottle completely with component B.

  4. Screw on spray head.

  5. Mix components together by shaking vigorously.

  6. Clean adhesive flange with isopropanol and leave to dry off for 5-10 minutes.
  7. Spray on primer in the area around the adhesive flange.
    1. 7.1. Process mixed primer within eight hours; do not keep any leftover primer.

  8. Check primer application.

    Bonded flanges are coated evenly with primer:

    result is OK.

    Remove excess primer with a clean, dry lint-free cloth.

    A thin, violet-colored coating of primer is sufficient for the bonded flanges.

    Adhesive flanges are not evenly coated (droplet formation):

    result is not OK.

    If an even application of primer is not obtained, the bonded flange must be completely cleaned, sanded and primed once again.

  9. Dry primer.
    1. 9.1. Allow primer to flash off; it must be dust-dry before any adhesive is applied.

  10. Process adhesive.
