Removing Rear Side Member (Section)

Information 

Cut completely through the rear side member (section) in the marked area.

Information 

Mark cut X  in accordance with the new part. Make sure to leave an overlap of approx. 3 cm with respect to the body.

1. Mark and make cut. → Distance: 180 mm

   Information 

   Loosen connection points on one side only. Do not damage the sheet-metal panel underneath.

2. Drill out spotwelds using spotweld drill; see Gr. 2.4; Workshop Equipment Manual Nr.129  .

3. Heat the marked bonding surfaces.

4. Remove rear side member (section).
