Preparing A-Pillar For Installation

Fit in A-pillar.
1. 1.1. Cut A-pillar at the transitions to the body leaving an overlap of 30 mm.
2. 1.2. Fit in A-pillar again.
3. 1.3. Make cuts through the A-pillar and body in the overlap areas.

  Shorten the wing attachment strip to prevent an overlap in the welded area on the A-pillar.
Cut back the wing rail -1- . → Dimension x: 90 mm

Prepare connection areas for bonding and welding.

Orange	Resistance spot-welding
Green	Resistance spot-welding + bonding
Blue	Bonding
Red	Plug-welding/apply a full weld using inert gas without bonding

Prepare wing rail.
1. 4.1. Drill holes for plug-welding in the marked areas on the rail using a drill bit with a diameter of → Diameter: 8.0 mm.

Prepare wing bracket for welding.
