Removing Roof Pillar

Information 

Only make cuts in the top plate. Make sure not to damage the plate underneath when doing this.

Information 

Mark cuts W, X, Y, Z  in accordance with the new part. Make sure to leave an overlap of approx. 3 cm with respect to the body.

1. Mark and make cuts. → Distance: 70 mm → Distance: 120 mm → Distance: 90 mm → Distance: 50 mm

   Information 

   Drill out the connection point on one side only. Do not damage the plate underneath.

2. Drill out spotwelds using spotweld drill;  .

3. Heat the marked bonding areas.

   Information 

   The front and center roof cross members overlap the roof pillar. Make a sufficient gap between the components before removing the roof pillar.

4. Make a sufficient gap with respect to the roof pillar in area -A-  on the front and center roof cross members.
   1. 4.1. Remove roof pillar.
