Installing Tie-Rod Ball

Information 

Clean the thread of the tie-rod ball before screwing the tie-rod ball onto the tie rod.

To prevent any damage when screwing the tie-rod ball onto the tie rod, make sure in particular that the thread engages uniformly.

Screw on the tie-rod ball by the number of turns you wrote down during removal. Then turn it as far as the marking.

This is not  a substitute for a later suspension alignment, but merely avoids the need for an approximate adjustment of the steering trapeze.

1. Installation is performed in reverse order to removal. Pay particular attention to the following:

Fastening nut -1-  securing tie-rod ball to wheel bearing housing: > Tightening torque 90 (67 ftlb.) Nm  Always use a new nut following removal.
