Installing Battery

Incorrect handling of safety bolts
- Danger of injury
- Loss of torque
→ Always use new screws or nuts following removal.
→ Comply with instructions for repairs.
→ Observe specified tightening torques.
→ Carry out a visual inspection of parts used.
Information
- Make sure that the two ends of the vent hose are routed and inserted correctly.
- The battery is installed in reverse order to removal.
- Fit the battery mount and tighten the fastening screw to > Tightening torque 23 (17 ftlb.) Nm .
- Position sheetmetal bracket and tighten the fastening screw to > Tightening torque 8 (6 ftlb.) Nm .
- Risk of short circuit! First connect the positive cable, then the negative cable. Tighten fastening nuts to Tightening torque 6 (4.5 ftlb.) Nm .
