Subsequent Work

- Install oil guide housing and oil pan.
- Fitting new joint flange behind the vibration damper.

- Check the timing.
TDC position of camshafts
- 3.1 Turn the engine two turns clockwise to TDC of cylinder 1 and lock the belt pulley using > 9595/1 - locating pins.
- 3.2 Check the position of the camshafts -Arrows-
. The surfaces for the camshaft adjustment must be horizontal.
- 3.2.1 If the control chain is still in the same position as it was during removal, remove > 9595/1 - locating pins and continue with Step 4.
- 3.2.2 Only set the timing if the control chain has jumped.
- Final installation of vibration damper.

- Install both cylinder head covers.
- Mounting the drive belt. For details, see > 137819 REMOVING AND INSTALLING DRIVE BELT
- Fit coolant hoses in front of the chain housing cover. Don't forget the holder. > Coolant return line on turbo, for example

- Attach the transmission flange.
- Install the engine.
