Removing Rear Side Panel (Roof Removed)

  1. Remove the roof. → 510355 replacing roof

    Information 

    Only make cuts in the top plate. Make sure not to damage the plate underneath when doing this.

    Information 

    Mark cuts in accordance with the new part. Make sure to leave an overlap of approx. 3 cm with respect to the body.

  2. Mark and make cuts.

    Information 

    The insulating mat will be damaged irreparably during removal and must be replaced.

  3. Heat up insulating mat with a hot-air gun and remove it.

    Information 

    Drill out spotwelds A  through two plate thicknesses.

  4. Drill out spotwelds using Spotweld drill   .

  5. Drill through clinch points using a → Diameter: 6.5 mm  .

    Information 

    Drill out the connection point on one side only. Do not damage the plate underneath.

  6. Drill out clinch points on the side panel as far as the plate lying underneath (closing panel) from the outside.

  7. Bend up edge of wheel arch.
    1. 7.1. Heat up connection areas using a hot-air gun.
    2. 7.2. Bend up edge of wheel arch.
